I'm a huge fan of LIGO and the mind-blowing discoveries it’s made: from detecting black hole collisions to literally listening to ripples in space-time! Gabriele has been part of this journey for over a decade, helping design, build, and operate the world’s largest gravitational-wave observatories.

- He’s the Deputy Head of System Science and Engineering at the LIGO Laboratory at Caltech, a national lab devoted to detecting gravitational waves from cosmic events like black hole and neutron star collisions.
- He earned his Ph.D. in Experimental Physics at Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, Italy.
- When he’s not exploring the universe’s darkest corners, he’s often running in the mountains or stargazing under desert skies with his own telescope.
